Description
In The Sole Survivor the author has written a tale of adventure from the very story James Morrill told to journalists.
From the shipwrecked Peruvian which went aground 560 nautical miles east of great Keppel Island, through to his rescue after 17 years living with aborigines of the Bindal, Wulguru-Kaba and Jura tribes of North Queensland. James Worrill proved he was made of strong stuff.
He was the first white settler of Townsville and district but rarely is he given recognition as such. had he not survived to tell his tale we would have never known the story of the Peruvian (304-ton, three masted barque shipwrecked in 1846)
Author: Alan J Morris
