About the Author
G. Randolph Erskine learned to tie flies as a Boy Scout in the late 1920s, when fly fishermen still used silkworm gut leaders Jungle Cock necks cost $2.50. He was a professional fly tier in the 1970s, and since the late 1970s he has taught fly tying classes, given fly tying demonstrations at sports shows, and has written ”Fly of the Month” columns for the Housatonic Fly Fisherman’s Association. He has also lectured on fly tying and appeared on local television tying flies.
