For 119 years Bustard Head Light Station, had a manned presence. In 1986 the Light was automated, and the keepers were withdrawn. This was followed by 16 years of vandalism that left the heritage- listed station looking like a demolition site. this is the history of the group that saved and restored this important Australian heritage building.
This is not only a story of a group of people restoring Queensland's first coast light, but also an example of what anyone can achieve if they have the determination, perseverance and of course passion.
