The beautiful hard-cover 240 page book contains photographs and stories of colourful old sailors, and fishermen and shipwrights from our beautiful and rugged island state, along with scenic shots of Tasmania’s world-famous coastline.

• Bern Cuthbertson re-enacted Bass and Flinders’ famous circumnavigation of Tasmania on a scale version of the Norfolk;
• a west coast saw miller in Strahan whose family has harvested the wonderful boat building timber,
• the Huon Pine, for 3 generations;
• a 5th generation of shipwrights in Port Cygnet, the Wilson Bros, who are currently restoring the stunning 8 meter classic Varg.
