Memories of a working harbour.
The Watermen series was published in Sydneys afloat magazine and has been modified and rewritten for this work, which is not and never can be a history of the port. That is yet to be written and, considering the amount of historic material and records consigned to rubbish bins in the 1980s and 90s during the many modifications to the then Maritime Services Board, may never be. Various academics have covered differnt sections of the ports progress. A partial bibliography is included.
